Final Project - Ideas

For our final project we have several ideas of what to do, we do not however want to overload our final project and so we are going to brainstorm the ideas onto the blog and eliminate each them to leave with an idea that incorporates much of the ideas but at the same time does not make the final video seem as if we have just stuffed everything into it.

  1. One of our initial ideas was to have a heartbeat playing in the background of the film throughout the whole two minutes and to have it flat lining to represent the death of someone in the scene. Conversely to this we had the idea of creating an opposite atmosphere with as the protagonist is preparing the corpse there would be classical music playing out of the radio.
  2. Another idea we had was to have stalking scene whereby he kills someone by going to their house, or have a dead body in the house making it seem as if it is alive. Only to reveal that it isn't alive at all.
  3. Also when looking back over the scenario (Posted on all our blogs as well as the storyboard) we realised that the shot range was very limited and used a lot of CU's and ECU's with a certain lack of other shots. TO combat this we have decided to film a new range of shots while shooting and then pick from them which are best. Or we could use multiple different angles to mix up the shots and add variety.

  1. Yeah that could be a problem with the lack of shot types. We could use some low sweeping shots as the killer is preparing his meal so it shows the idea of it being just a normal kitchen by setting the scene. Also when he is eating we could do a medium shot from behind him so again it doesn't reveal his identity, adds the sense of not knowing what he is eating and mixes up the shots.

  2. Yes, we could do that. But we would have to be extremely careful as to not reveal the killers identity as that would defeat the plot of the whole scene. Rather that using the medium shots we could instead use longer shots but use props to hide his face such as cupboard doors etc.
